Planning Minister Justin Madden has advised the Northern Grampians Shire Council that he has approved Amendment C25 to the Northern Grampians Planning Scheme.
The Amendment came into operation on July 10, 2008 after publication of the Notice of Approval in the Victorian Government Gazette.
The Amendment rezones land at 7-9 Sloane Street, Stawell, from Public Use Zone 2 Education to Public Use Zone 6 Local Government, and rezones land at 8-20 Patrick Street, Stawell, from Public Use Zone 2 Education to Public Use Zone 3 Health and Community.
The Amendment will facilitate the development and future use of the Stawell Health and Community Centre.
Mr Madden, in his letter to council said this important project will provide more efficient access to health services giving effect to the Government's policy statements in Growing Victoria Together and A Fairer Victoria.
In its role as the Planning Authority for its municipal district, the Northern Grampians Shire Council and its Planning Department has and continues to work very closely with the Department of Human Services to facilitate the delivery of this is $20 million redevelopment project in Patrick Street, Stawell.

A copy of the Amendment may be inspected, free of charge at the Department of Planning and Community Development website at www.dcpd.vic.gov.au/planning/publicinspection and free of charge, during office hours, at the offices of the Northern Grampians Shire Council, Main Street, Stawell.
