Police have charged two Norlane men in relation to an incident in Stawell on Saturday afternoon.
Detective Leading Senior Constable John Bongiorno said the two men Trevor Wayne Kelly, 22, and Shaun Vincent Kelly, 19, assaulted another man out the front of a residence in Croll Street, Stawell.
Detective Bongiorno said the assault was `partially domestic', which saw the two men attack the victim with items such as a dog chain and a bandana with a golf ball inside. He said the assault lasted a matter of minutes.
The Stawell man received welt marks to his upper and lower back and arms and received hospital treatment as a result. The injuries were not regarded as serious.
Both males were arrested and charged for intentionally recklessly causing injury, assault by kicking, assault by weapon and assault in company. Trevor was also charged for one count of robbery and one count of theft.
Shaun Kelly was bailed to the Stawell Magistrate's Court for September 7, however, Trevor Kelly appeared in Geelong Magistrate's Court on Monday where his bail application was refused. He has been remanded in custody until his court appearance at Stawell on September 7.
