Police making school visits

16/05/2008 8:27:00 AM
Stawell Police made a visit to Stawell Primary School this week.

It was a friendly visit however and is part of a new program instigated by the Stawell Police.

Police visited the school as part of the program which is to familiarise children with police.

Constable Toni Chegwin, from the Stawell Police said the school visits were a lot of fun.

``We go in, have a wander around the school yard and have a chat with the kids,'' Constable Chegwin said.

``They come to see us and talk to us. This enables them to see there is nothing to be afraid of.''

During the course of the year Stawell Police will visit all the schools in the area.
