A superior first half performance has helped Swifts open their Horsham District Football League account.
The Baggies led at every change in their clash with a struggling Taylors Lake, before holding on for a much-needed 26 point win.
Swifts piled on nine goals to four in the first half, with senior coach Jamie Britten again dominant in his unfamiliar role up forward.
Britten, who started in a pocket before playing out of the goalsquare, booted five goals with Ricky Whitehead (three) and Josh Molan (two) the other multiple contributors.
Jake Goodes turned in another best on ground display, while Brett Hargreaves and Scott Carey found plenty of the ball.
"It was great, the boys played as a team and basically put four quarters of footy together," Britten said.
"The first quarter was what set it up for us. It was a pretty good win by the boys."
Britten expected Nathan McDonald to return to the side for Saturday's clash with Pimpinio after missing against the Lakers, as did Damien Ball. However, the Baggies were without young star Shannon Slorach on Saturday who has expressed his desire to return to Great Western. Britten said the club will speak to Slorach during the week in the hope of keeping the youngster.
"We certainly want his services, he is a talented young footballer," Britten said.
"He is a number we don't want to lose."
The victory has not helped Swifts improve their position on the ladder, still just sitting above the Lakers in 10th.
Great Western was outclassed by one of the league premiership favourites on Saturday.
Kalkee handed the Lions a thumping to the tune of 99 points at Central Park.
The Lions were never really a factor in the match and trailed at every break.
Bobby Garley fired for the Lions, as Aaron Williams, Luke Cadzow and Richard Thomas put in serviceable displays. Luke Schuyler and coach Sonny Walton were the only multiple goalkickers with two apiece.
Anthony Perkins led the Kalkee charge with nine goals up forward, helping his team to equal second spot on the ladder with Harrow-Balmoral and Laharum.
In a further blow for the Lions, multiple club best and fairest Dale Hurley will miss between four and six weeks with an achilles injury.
Hurley saw an Essendon club doctor last week who confirmed rest would be the only option.
Marc Cooke, Sam Pitman and Paul Dalziel were also late withdrawals from Saturday's team, paving the way for a number of youngsters to push into the senior ranks. Nauru import Brendan Waidabu played in the seniors.
Noradjuha-Quantong provided the upset of the round with a thrilling one point win against Laharum.
The Bombers led the contest for much of the day against the fancied Laharum outfit who lost gun forward Jason Przibilla to a hamstring injury early in the match.
Edenhope-Apsley grabbed their first win of the season at home to a disappointing Rupanyup.
The combine finished 32 point winners of the contest thanks to some wasteful shooting from the Panthers forwards. They kicked 7.11 for the match and had just two less scoring shots than their opponents.
Harrow-Balmoral cruised to an easy 108 point win against a struggling Pimpinio on Saturday.
The Roos were never threatened during the afternoon with 12 individual goalkickers contributing to the margin.
