Kalkee sets sights on finals

29/08/2008 10:33:00 AM
Kalkee have a chance to signal their premiership aspirations when they step out in tomorrow's Horsham District Football League qualifying final.

After their big finish to the season, when they tore Swifts apart, the Kees now have their sights firmly set on a grand final spot.

Their opponents tomorrow, Laharum have had an ideal lead up to the qualifying final, as they had the bye in the final home and away round giving their players a chance to get over any niggling injuries.

They will be fresh, but Kalkee certainly didn't spend too much in the big win over Swifts, the opposition was miminal.

Kalkee key forwards Anthony Perkins and Brian Harrison will have a big say in the Kees performance tomorrow.

If they have another day out there is little doubt Kalkee will kick a winning score.

Laharum have had a consistent season with 14 wins and just three losses and they do present real opposition for the Kees, but with Kalkee in such good form at the right end of the season, they should be set for a second semi final berth.

In the elimination final Noradjuha Quantong and Rupanyup will do battle and this promises to be a close encounter.

Both teams are coming off final round wins, but form towards the end of the season tends to suggest Rupanyup may end Noradjuha Quantong's season on Sunday.

The qualifying final will be played tomorrow at Rupanyup and the elimination final at Laharum on Sunday.

Harrow Balmoral after finishing at the top of the competition ladder, take the weekend off to prepare for the second semi final.
