Cricket feast

16/05/2008 8:38:00 AM
More than one hundred cricketers poured onto Ararat's Alexandra Oval for the latest edition of the Grampians All Abilities Cricket Carnival.

Despite the late withdrawals of St Arnaud, Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh, four grades of competition were on show, which included a new team from Mildura.

It was Stawell who claimed the day's A grade honours, defeating arch rivals Ararat 116 to 93. Maryborough (1) and Horsham played out a thrilling 95-all tie in B grade, Skene Street took the C grade trophy 33-run win against Mildura and Warracknabeal were too strong for Maryborough (2) in D grade, winning 65 to 49.
