THE MAIL Universal Colours has hit his straps since getting to the middle-distance events. He was a solid winner at Rosehill three starts back and has since finished second there and at Kembla Grange last time out when he flashed to the line. With Rod Quinn aboard again, Universal Colours can win the third event at Rosehill on Saturday.

BANKER Command Prince has a string of wins next to his name and is working through the grades in grand style. He faces another test when lining up in the seventh at Caulfield on Saturday but he has the talent to maintain the winning form.

THE CELEBRITY Souths playmaker Craig Wing is hoping for a big game against arch rivals Sydney Roosters at the SFS on Friday night before settling down for a day watching the action at Rosehill on Saturday where he likes the Bart Cummings-trained Occurrence to win race eight. "She's first-up from a spell and goes great fresh," said Wing.

SPORT BET

The Sydney Swans have been on the AFL slippery slide for the past month and despite being favourites, Saturday night's match against Brisbane is no easy task. While the Swans may win, the Lions with 15.5 points start at $1.90 look a safe bet.
